Sales & Marketing Competition

On October 8th, 2016, Pi Sigma Epsilon’s Zeta Zeta chapter at The College of New Jersey will be hosting its third annual Sales Competition, with the inclusion of our first annual Marketing Case Competition! The event will be held on campus in the Business Building and will be open to all TCNJ students, as well as students from other universities.

The Sales Competition on October 8th will not only give a number of students the ability to compete and develop their professional skills, but will also give them a chance to network with the various recruiters that will be in attendance at the event.  In addition, the funds that we raise from this event will be used toward sending our PSE members to the 2017 PSE National Convention so that TCNJ’s Zeta Zeta chapter can proudly represent the college. Our PSE chapter works diligently every year to raise money for PSE’s National Convention.  This convention gives PSE chapters from around the country the opportunity to compete in various events including The Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon, the Marketing Challenge, and the Top PSE Chapter Competition.

The PSE Sales Competition will include around 50 students who will each have to complete a 15 minute sales call role play in which they meet a business owner, learn about their company’s needs and goals, and then present a product that would prove useful in helping the buyer achieve his or her goals.  There will be one buyer and multiple judges in each room, and these judges will choose one finalist from each room.  The judges will then meet and vote among the finalists to see which students will place.  Ultimately, the first, second and third place winners will all receive cash prizes.

The PSE Marketing Case Competition will include teams of 3 to 5 compeititors who will receive the case day of. Together, they will decide and propose a brief marketing plan in alignment with the provided proposal. Their day will consist of a one hour training session with one of our very own sponsors. As a team, they will present amongst a panel of three judges, as they look to see who will present the best and most innovative marketing solutions.

In addition, there will also be guest speakers hosting events throughout the day that students can attend once they are finished competing, a career fair where recruiters can network with students, and a banquet in the evening where the winners will be announced.
